Locations in Abilene to Buy Your Halloween Pumpkin

It is now officially fall and that means it's time to start looking for those pumpkins. You may want to cook with them, decorate with them, carve them or just spend time with family picking out the perfect one. We have a few locations around Abilene where you can find pumpkins to do any or all of the above.

I've seen not only pumpkins in all sizes, shapes and colors but also a variety of really ugly and unusual gourds. However, they all make for really cool decorations. There is even the 'pumpkin patch' at DRI where you spend hours looking for the best pumpkin to take home. Here are some spots I have found that already have a great variety available.

DRI Pumpkin Patch

This is an annual fundraiser for DRI (Disability Resources, Inc.). The event brings in over 10,000 visitors during the month. They have the place decorated with props, swings, hay bales and thousands of pumpkins in all sizes. You can take pictures, enjoy free hay rides, story time and purchase pumpkins to take home.
